A message to tourists. After reading some of these posts, you still
decide to visit Bermuda, please give the horse and buggy rides a miss.
Most of the horses are kept in appalling conditions and having to tow a
buggy around in the summer heat is ridiculous. Spare a thought for the
horses. Treat yourself to a nice icecream instead.

Don't forget the stress the horses are under from the constant stream of
traffic.

So, long ago, it was considered acceptable for a man to beat both his
horses and his wife. These days, it is now (fortunately) widely condemned
to mistreat animals.
So, why is it still considered acceptable for men to attack and beat
their spouses/partners? Check out the story that's been posted on the
bermudasucks.com homepage.
Unless we all try to change this horrifying state of affairs, THIS IS
BERMUDA'S SHAME!!!

Maybe if the owners of those horses are made to tow a buggy around in the
summer heat, only will they be able to understand the suffering and their
abusive way to these horses. It's a **** shame in this day and age,
having horses working under such condition. Bermuda is just too small
with heavy traffic and just months ago, a horse lost its life. When some
owners are only thinking of being so greedy, they have no respect for
their horses and will not change. Let them tow the buggy to get a taste
of their own wicked medicine

This whole horse & buggy ride gets me furious. These folks sit their
hineys off while these hot, thirsty tired animals have to pull them all
around town in excruciating heat. The law is supposed to be now they
cannot have horses working until after 3pm, have they not noticed the sun
is still a scorcher at 5pm in the summer?
? Let them have to pull
800lbs around in the heat and lets see what happens to them.....

Surely it is time to move on from this inhumane practice. Horses were a
good form of transport in bygone days. There is no justification for them
now.
Picture the scene. A hot summers day. You get in the carrige and creep up
Bermudiana in the middle of rush hour. Oh look, there's the 24 hour gas
station on our left and a constuction site on the right. Next we have a
generation plant on the right and a small industrial zone. Try not to
look at the horse in front of us, it's flogged to death.
Who has the power to stop this? The public does. DON'T GET IN THEM !!!
