What constitutes dangerous driving in Bermuda can be subjective. An iPod is apparently in the same category as operating a mobile phone. This goes without saying that had the lady been using an iPhone to listen to music it would have been a clear cut case. That would be me going to jail then as my iphone sits in a docking station in my car. Perfectly legal here with headphones.

Seems crazy it should come to this when I was in the car with my boss (Bermudian) and she just got a warning? Not that I would ever suggest there may be one law for Bermudians and another for expats as that would be wrong. Surely fiddling with a radio/CD player would be the most dangerous of them all.

So after this landmark ruling I think we have the picture - No more music in the car people.  wacko

In a small island even the smallest crime gets a nice big splashy photo on the front page. Hopefully she will be able to successfully appeal as this may mean her next work permit is refused.

Wonder what and who pays for the legal costs for this?
