Apologies for the forum outage last weekend, some of the management software ran amok and shut things down.  Sad

Hey,

Was just wondering, as I will no doubt need to do this some point down the line.

If you have car at present and wish to buy a new car, do you need to sell the first car before you can buy the second car? I am thinking about the 1 car policy per assessment number/household.

Any guidance?

Thanks,

So, theoretically it works in this way. TCD has the registration of your current car, which can be only one, and one for assessment number. When you hold a car you are already keeping busy the assessment number, so, theoretically you can't buy another car in the meantime because you can't register it! But, you have 30 days form the TCD inspection to register the new car under your name.
Some people keep the old car and sell parts from the backyard, but this is going to transform the outside of your house into a landfill ...
