I am tempted to suggest that whites should stop taking the high road

Ms Smith said yesterday: "I think it reflects such horrible arrogance. I, along with everybody I know, is just so hurt over the disenfranchisement of white people in Bermuda. The current state of affairs is just so alarming to me."

The 51-year-old wrote to all PLP MPs on June 17 to complain about Premier Ewart Brown following his decision to bring four detainees to Bermuda from Guantánamo Bay without the UK's permission.

Her note was sent the day after protesters marched against the Premier through Hamilton, waving banners and calling for him to resign.

The Warwick businesswoman wrote to Government MPs: "I am ashamed of the leader of my country. His dictatorial leadership style, his grandiose spending, his questionable ethics, his inflated ego, his lack of transparency, his stirring up of racial hatred, are all hurting the fabric of our Island.

Starling:after joining the PLP, and it becoming widely known, I myself recieved some threatening phone calls, and graffiti chalked on my property calling me a traitor and a Jew, complete with swastikas.

Starling: I think you will find that the majority of Whites who joined the PLP, even in the immediate aftermath of the 1998 election, experienced similar things. Today its much more likely that you will find yourself baited or shunned socially...

If those of you that marched against Premeir Brown are intending to march again to the Parliament House remember that the Supreme Court is also on those grounds. The family of Kellon Hill is still going on and I feel you showed great disrespect to the Supreme Court and the jurors and the family. Your plight has no greater significance than that. People have been murdered on this island for years & now the numbers are up. I hope when there is another march on "Stop the Violence" that all that showed their face on Parliament Hill shows their face for that. Show Bermuda that you don't just get radical when your pocket book seems to be threatened or when crime comes to finds itself on Front Street
