Bermuda does indeed suck. It sucks you in even when miles and time have come between. Yes, I have been a lurker and have now been sucked in by your charms, my brothers and sisters.

Fast Eddie - I'm a newbie too so welcome. It's always appreciated when someone points out the "not so rare" bits of double-speak we hear from our government leaders.

BTW - my sincere apologies in advance for when in my haste I type too fast and call you Fat Eddie.  Wink

Welcome from me too.
I understand you when you say that you have opinions about the island even though time/distance have come between.  I was on the rock about 3 years ago.  Whilst in Bermuda I just couldn't understand why things weren't working out for me, I didn't feel that comfortable there and headed back to Europe after about 15 months. This site has enabled me to ask the quesitons and read about the many situations that were unclear to me at the time.  It has been great therapy as even though I was only there for a relatively short time, the stay has had quite a profound affect on my life.

It is a big decision to go and work/live on a little island in the middle of nowehere and in retrospect, I shouldn't have taken the decision so lightly..I should have done more homework.

It's all worked out ok now, no hard feelings, but if I had to advise people about going I really believe that it is a place to go and work only if you have the right amount of emotional support, friendls/family there....oh and a nice meaty salary helps enormously too.  Those pink beaches, although breathtakiingly beautriful, are not enough if you are not feeling happy.
