Hello Mambo - welcome to the club - given what you say, any takers that Ewart also offered Tiger a side-kicker as an appearance fee? Ironically if he did that would have probably sealed the deal for Tiger NOT to show up. The last thing he'd want is people finding out and pegging him for a sleazy money grubber after all the comments he and his buds Phil, Ernie & VJ have been making about schedules and cash pay-offs in the play-offs instead of retirement funds.

I've been slack in welcoming all the newbies and will have to catch up with passing out the k's. Starting here.

I'M A LITTLE CONFUSED!!!  (A normal state for this rabbit...)  But I had a long conversation with Carlos Durham of the Dept. of Tourism, and Ew-Rats right hand man down there, and he told me Tiger is DEFINITELY COMING!!!  This was yesterday!  So what the hell is the deal??  Does the right hand not know what the left hand is doing??

Wow this must be a touchy subject  Shocked

Anywho, i've heard from reliable sources (so obviously it may not be true) that back in the days Tiger and his Dad came down to Bermuda to play, and Mid-Ocean wouldn't let him on.  I wonder, if this actually happened, how much of that incident played a part in his decision.

Apparently this has been quite the discussion this morning.

Personally, I think Tiger is way above that.  My understanding is that he encountered that very same thing many times at many different places.

I understand the MO story is an urban myth although what something similar did occur in the Bahamas.

Please state when and where this occurred in the Bahamas. Tiger owns property on the Ocean Club Golf Course and he, Ernie Els and the Tavidstock Group are major investors in the $1.4 billion The Albany Project (http://www.thebahamasinvestor.com/features/post142.php). Tiger vacations here regularly because of the diving, he apparently is an avid diver. I very much doubt Tiger would spend as much time in the Bahamas as he does nor would he invest in the Bahamas as he has if he has had negative experiences.

calm down dearie, I understood that there was an issue with a friend of his late papa on a course down there. Nothing that would stand in the way of his investment portfolio though (like buying a condo in Cape Town). His vacation of choice in Carib is St Barts - I'm not a stalker honest I just know a lot of guys at IMG.

I have to agree with Guilden and 32-23-64.

Times change and things happened in the past that I am not supportive of and never was. Those days are gone but there are some out there who will not let it.

Tiger is rated as a person and sportsman much better than any poll on current Presidents, Premiers et al. He is an ambassador for Golf and his Country. It shows in his demeanor on and off the course.

I guess that Eawrt just thought it was a done deal and enjoyed the limelight for a while. As they say here in 'Merica'....shit happens. I say move on, as we can see Tiger already has.

Plus, just a little plug for Bermuda....Guilden, I tink were both on 'par' for the diving. Only problem I have his eye gutt too cum hup arry tan meenitz for dee rum ann koke...

Gotta run..............................damn shaharks....da kewt doe.......ven da belly his fool............. Wink

um goin yoo no vat diving................ Grin Grin Grin

You're saying the Bahamas is no better than Bermuda for diving? I'd heard it was quite good.
