Going back to a post on the original forum.

For those complaining about lack of space and overcrowding, how's this: if you can't increase the available space, stop increasing the number of people you squeeze into it. It is not just education - the culture needs to be changed on this aspect of Bermuda life. Prevention is better than cure.

A splendid idea reality.? I reckon it should be along the lines of the Chinese system of one child per couple.? I'm surprised no government has tried to grasp this nettle yet.? There is a finite amount of land here and some very large families.? This is totally irresponsible of the parents.? I daresay the same people are the ones complaining of the high rents and nowhere to live.

Hey, the Chinese system aint so bad, what else you gonna do when you got that many billion people? OK, maybe extreme, but, to put it the politically correct way, I'd like to see more done to promote responsible reproduction and parenting. Or in other words, some people just shouldn't breed.

I agree the Chinese system isn't bad and should be passed as law in Bermuda.? The Government has to face the facts that with the rising birth rate overcrowding will just get worse.
Another problem will be when the island goes independant and all of the Bermudans working in Europe lose their UK passports and return home.? They're going to want somewhere to live too.
There is a better solution than the one child per family rule but it could be deemed too controversial to implement.?
All it would take would be the DNA testing of the entire population.? We could then progress with enforced sterilisation of persons with inferior genes.
Licences would be issued to couples wanting a family after background checks were done on their family history to see if they were compatible.? Within 3 generations there could be a Bermudan super race.

how would you find which DNA to weed out though? Start with cabinet ministers and work from there?
