Well, I went out and got a copy, since it's on the sale here. I am not impressed.

It does have some nice touches; the weather is cool, and there are some nifty cars (e.g. the Caterham Seven; I had one IRL, so it's kind of fun to be able to drive on in PGR), there are more cities, etc.

Set against that, the images aren't too good on a regular TV (we have our XBox connected full-time to our old TV), and the text is almost impossible to read on one; a lot of my favourite cars have been removed (e.g. the Ferrari F50 and the Lotus Elise GT); my favourite view (top of the bumper) has been removed (it only has the street-level view from the front); I liked the separate kudos and credits better, etc, etc, etc.

The biggest disappointment of all is that I bought it so I could drive the Nurburgring in various weather conditions - but even in time-trial mode the 'Ring is locked until you get 75K kudos or so. Argh!
