I'm looking forward to hearing your perspective on what sucks and what sucks not much...   Smiley

Welcom OL.  I agree every place can suck sometimes, the forum isn't about Bermuda bashing, it's a place to express your opinion, good or bad, about life on de Rock.  I'm interested to hear your take on things.

One Love - dang why couldn't I have thought of that name? K2U2

Bermuda does suck on many levels. Bermuda also shines on many other levels. It's life on a rock in the middle of nowhere and it'll suck you in or spit you out. This is just a place where we can all chew on things for a while.

Welcome One Love...Karma2U for joining.

Bermuda doesn't suck at all, but the people in it sometimes do.

Angel's right there. In fact if there were no people in Bermuda I think we'd have to call it paradise. Could you imagine what this place must have been like just 100 years ago? 21 square miles must have seemed like 200 sq miles of beauty.

Thank you for making me welcome.

True it is some of the people that suck and some that make it great. My take on what sucks is the people who make divisions in our land, it is too small for that. Also the litter sucks have you seen how much trash there is on our island, not like when it had no humans? The good things that dont suck are of course the rum and the weather. The kites and the water. Most people are good too there just quieter than the bad guys sometimes, black and white. I dont like the racism but I think it will get better with the younger generation.

Welcome One Love.   I hope you're right about the younger gereration. All we can do is set an example, but, I didn't like what I saw in the videos on you Tube of the plp rally The Main Event! Little children in the crowd hearing the grown-ups, including numero uno, cheering and applauding all the racist remarks that were made!  If this is what young children hear at home,  heaven help us!

Y'know, I don't mind people believing what they want but I feel uncomfortable about children attending political rallies, whether PLP or UBP. It reminds me of a documentary I saw recently called Jesus Camp. One of the camp organisers was talking about how the extremists in Palestine get the kids in young to indoctrinate them, and she says that is exactly what the churches should do. Scary movie and a reminder of what happens when kids are force fed belief systems.

That's a good point, one for everyone to remember.

At the same time, people who are in the middle do need to speak up, to publicly disagree when something is done/mooted that they think is not the best way to go; both to make it known that there are a diversity of views, and, more importantly, to make it plain that diversity of opinions is healthy and useful, and should not be a source of concern for those who speak out.

Of course, if it is a source of concern, if you speak out in opposition, I think that should cause people to re-evaluate the party they are supporting...
