Well whats happened this week on Bermuda Roads
A high speed chase in a SKODA? not so sure about the high speed chase bit, is that possible in a Skoda? but a mother and child nearly injured, another lucky escape.
Two large steel carrying trucks collide, because some selfish dickhead in a car ignores the safety truck instructions. Personally if I was the truck driver I might not of taken the evasion action because I know who would of won that fight.
Cars, trucks and cyclists etc, who all seem to think they are exempt from stopping at temporary traffic lights on red, perhaps temporary traffic lights are just put there to make the road look pretty and gives the motoring public a more interesting journey to work.
And at the weekend I see a young girl no more that 12 years old sitting on the rear of a renault megane convertible, driving out of Hamilton (in no position to be wearing a seatbelt) and I mean sitting with the feet on the rear seats and her backside on the back of the car! doing a Titanic impersonation! and looks like the two adults in the front don't give a shit if they have to brake in an emergency and she will going flying, thus probably running over their own child or relative in the process.
As for indicators why even bother to import cars to this island with them! I feel like a freak when I use mine!
The sad thing is this is just a small list of the typical stupidness that goes on day in day out on the roads in Bermuda.

PS I'm not allowed to see the children anymore so I don't want any comments about me driving with my child sitting on my lap!

May I add to the list:

Older couple taking a leisurely drive on Harbourfront earlier this week - breaking at EVERY SINGLE curve in the road, AND breaking when oncoming traffic was coming in the other lane!!!!!! Never seen anything like it before...needless to say, I am still too new a driver to be passing people on Harbour Road....but took the chance as soon as I could (as did the LINE of cars behind me!)

AND...there are WAY too many DRUNK DRIVERS on the roads...at reasonable hours of the day no less! INSANITY!!!

Kitty, Kitty, Kitty - you know some of these things will go on ad nauseum i.e. some things will never change!

Saw another fun one:
Some Football kids travelling through Hamilton, late afternoon, in the back of a hatchback ... ALL sitting in the back, with their legs hanging out onto the road, dragging their boots!!!

There's so much Love on the roads too.

I have to stop now...IP is being logged by Big Brother!

I used to fear for some of the very small kids clinging to the moped or their parent as they took corners like they were at a grand prix. The kids many times had wholly inadequate helmets and bare limbs, I'd hold my breath and hope they made it to their destination safely. Until Bermuda, I'd taken for granted the idea that people with kids have cars.

Somebody ripped my shad case off the back of my scooter yesterday near the Esso on Par-la-Ville road. In broad daylight.

It was unlocked and there was nothing of value in it and it is like 4 years old. But still...I carry groceries in that!!
