Bermuda Allrounder Lionel Cann has been banned for he next couple of one day cricket internationals for serious dissent. The umpire gave him out and he didn't like it, so refused to leave the field until made to do so by Bermuda's captain. He then kicked over a trash bin as he left. The $11million wasn't spent on sporting etiquette then.

I know times have changed but cricketers used to be held up as paragons of sporting virtue. It would be appropriate for the Bermuda authorities to ad to the ban by witholding his match fees etc.

I think that if that had of been the British Sport (association or whatever) then he would have been handed a much stiffer fine and lost some cash to boot!

The ban didn't come from the BCB but from the referee of the match who would be following ICC guidelines so I don't think you can criticise the Bremuda Board and say the ECB would have done anything different, I mean look at the off the field behaviour Flintoff has been able to get away with.

apparently someone through a brick through a window of a passing bus as well, fortunately though (!) there was only the driver on board but the window was totally smashed!!! (all of this by the sports field).

It's a privilege to get paid to play sports.  With that privilege comes a conduct of behaviour that MUST be adhered to.  To act like a child and throw a tantrum is definitely not apart of the decorum that should be upheld.  This guy should be reprimanded not by the team but by the association.  He's supposed to be an ambassador for Bermuda!  What message does this send to the kids??!?!? Just deplorable.

The player in question has been sent home and will play no further part in the tour according to an article in the Bermuda Sun. Maybe the BCC has been reading Sucks.
