Any of those island musicians learn how to be professional yet?
Is that farce of a musicians unuin still pretending to be of any value whatsoever?
Do they still believe that keeping pros OFF the island will make the locals better?

I am not sure what you are talking about. Every year Pickled Onion, Hog Penny, Swizzle Inn and Flanagans have imported bands and there may be others. In recent years it has been far easier for the Bars to get overseas entertainers and I am not sure that they even need to hire the locals in order to do so anymore. All the local musicians have either given up or have their own thing going already, so the days of the MU making a stink have been long gone.

There our many obstacles to bringing in entertainment but well worth it. Go to immagrations web page for the facts and you'll see with all the crap that small business has to put up with to provide entertainment and JOBS.

You mean they all got OLD & some moved away or came to the conclusion that they were substandard to begin with. The hack at Hog penny is a singing karaoke fool.

Unfortunately thats what the management like, last year I saw a young guy there , yes, he was karaoke, but he could sing and play very well. Sadly the nature of the business in Bermuda has produced many karaoke hacks, myself included, they dont like bands, they are too expensive and too loud(live drums do that). When I decided to play just as a band my nights dropped from seven to two a week.

If you want to beat somebody up about it start with the guys that do the hiring , they have shaped the trend. Also I believe the Bermudian musicians used to try so hard to bad mouth each other to get work it backfired and got them all labelled as crap.

Let face it, Little johnny goes to the bar managers and says all the other bands are crap and druggies , hire me instead, what sort of view and reputation do you think will form about musicians in general.

I see the same thing happening politically, both the PLP and UBP claim each other are crap , dishonest and useless, so what do you think the IB and tourism sectors think.

Bermuda is self destructing. There is no sense of honour and honesty anymore, all hail to the great American way.

Well many ARE on drugs so that is a big problem in itself.
never mind they cant make time OR play songs from this century.

Its a sad scene on an island with NO ENTERTAINMENT .
Gov't should be ashamed of itself. No venues = no talent forming.

Once upon a time front street ROCKED in every joint!~
Jesus, what the hell does anyone DO at night now??
