Amcan over at bdafreespeech is usually right on topic. This is very interesting as I also wondered why MD&CZJ had fallen off the radar. Anyone know any details?:

"Where has the RG been when it comes to Ariel Sands and Hilton parting
company? MON reported in August that Hilton was out and Fetigani
confirmed same in September. Now the RG is catching up but as usual
they didn't spend 5 minutes searching out more details on what is now
being marketed for the property. Maybe the RG reporters aren't into
investigative journalism but I remember a Bermuda where you could
find out anything with one or two phone calls, now it only takes
Google.

All the RG could come up with about what is now planned for the
property is: it will take about three years, the footprint of the
buildings will not be any greater (any greater than what?), there
will be two and three storey buildings, 10 hotel rooms (whoopee) and
the rest fractional interest.

When initially announced by Michael Douglas, Bruce Sonneborn and Dr.
Brown back in Spring 2006 it was reported there would be 214 rooms in
the $100M development. When it was approved in March 2007, Hilton was
still involved, cost was up to $170M but no mention of numbers of
rooms.

The Ariel Sands Residence Club is being marketed by Gail Flannigan
Associates a boutique marketing firm. The Gail Flannigan website for
Ariel Sands shows there will be 60 - 2 or 3 bedroom suites
(fractional), 10 hotel rooms and other details. Gail Flannigan
Associates also reps Cambridge Beaches.

The RG article doesn't say the development has been approved in its
revised state but it does sound like no one is questioning approval.
Gail Flannigan Associates has been actively marketing the revised
Ariel Sands development for a couple of months which would indicate
the developers are confident of something."

Just 10 hotel rooms? Is this to be just an expat enclave as well?

Another tourism success.
