One day I'll be the Minister of Transport for some country, not Bermuda. My first act will be to disallow any visitor or recent immigrant from driving any vehicle in my country if all they have is a Bermuda driver's license. Payback at last! It would be good to see Bermudians forced to take busses or taxis everywhere while on vacation or at school, or maybe I would allow them to rent small "rental bikes" only. It would be good to see them have to take all the driving tests from scratch.

It's ridiculous that my Canadian motorcycle license, which allows me to drive any motorbike up to and over 1300cc with a manual 5-speed shift and clutch, cannot be swapped over for an equivalent Bermuda license. The same goes for my Canadian car license, which is good for any car or truck up to 5 tons.

You might say, but the road rules are different, but that's true for most different countries. In spite of this, many commonwealth countries allow license exchanges. This British colony does not.

There's nothing more reassuring to know that people who pass a significant part of their driving test in a car park and "should" never have made it to 5th gear can hop on the BA flight collect their 2l car at Gatwick and go straight out onto the M25 in rush hour.....

Frightening...

Although I have to say I have been to the US and hired a Mustang on a Bda Bike licence.....before you ask - no I am not crazy I have had a full UK license for over 13yrs, I wasn't on a suicide mission......the guy at the rental co. did, however, ask me what state Bermuda was in - he didn't seem to see the humour when I said "eerrrmm the Atlantic Ocean"

Maybe Bermuda is just playing it safe....Huh  Or more likely it's just another one of those things set out to cause us to need this space to rant !!

The restrictions on licenses fit the pattern of government control that is evident here. There was a time that TCD would not allow custom paint jobs on cars. In fact, they wouldn't even allow two-tone cars. They love to be in the position to say No!

Well ,this seems to be only the beginning as the PLP is a Huge fan overall of communism... the propaganda government station... telling the public that they don't know what's best for themselves or that they don't understand what they are reading or voting on... or hey to hell with education 11m to some loser sports "heroes" (quitters) that can't compete on an international level and have to pull the "race card" even in Africa... the open racist remarks by "P" go un punished... Burch and his censorship of freedom of speech (radio Nazi station)... Geeez ... and that's not really even a great start...

They love being in a position to say NO.... They are so power hungry in their goal of being a Big Fish in a Little Pond they can't think, see, speak straight....

Still the saddest thing is....... Bermudians sit back and do NOTHING about any of this...... hmmmmm...

Can you say... Let me bend over and you just stick it there...............

So very sad for Bermuda??
