Glad to hear the kids doing well. As far as a girl being involved in this day and age unfortunately it's not as surprising as one would wish. We've got a lot of socials ills going on right now and we must be careful to make sure we address all of them. It's why I have always wondered why the PLP government feel they need to do all these studies on young black males - what's wrong with just studying all of Bermuda's youth that are on the edge of the precipice to becoming social outcasts and help bring them back to center?

I think we are in one of the "saddest" times of our lives.  The "progressive" Labour Party hasn't been doing a very good job at being "Progressive" have they?

This is why my kids will be off this island by middle school age....if not before!

Thank God I have the option!

What in the world does the PLP's performance have to do with this incident?

Many of the teachers and their union are openly critical that they have not been involved in new Government initiatives - many of which deal with discipline or lack of discipline in the public schools.

A lot of people have issues/concerns with the state of the public schools and after 9 years of government - with many failed policies added to the school system - the buck stops with the Government.

The level of violence was not an issue in our schools some years ago.

Additionally when one of our countries leaders threatens to ‘cross the floor’ to settle a disagreement – then one has to accept that some (maybe the young?) will see that as acceptable – to use or threaten to use violence to resolve conflict.

Hope this answers your question.
