...Are they going to enforce the laws made to accommodate changing times?

I know they are "understaffed, poor resources, and face numerous problems... Karma to them for attempting their job duties...

However, I don't see that resources they have are utilized, nor do I hear a voice for them stating the needs or injustices of their jobs... in order to create some type of support for change within their system....

CC - there are some new laws that are going into effect although when I don't know.

PN - The police have been very vocal regarding their conditions but they are falling on deaf ears.  Where as everyone hears about other government worker complaints because they can go on strike, the police cannot strike so the public don't hear about everything they are going through.  The government needs to assign more money to the police so they can get current in technology, better training, higher salaries so they can recruit enough police officers to keep streets covered properly.

Does anybody know where the motorcycle cops have gone? I haven't seen any on the road for quite some time now.  Actually, you don't see many police around much at all.

Bluenoser I take it your husband doesn't get a Christmas bonus???  Or does your hubbie not give you one after all the hard work you do being a domestic engineer? Wink

Most people I know do not get Christmas bonuses, and it's not for a lack of doing a great job! Not to worry about me, I get lots of perks!

Bluenoser I have to say that I agree with you on companies not giving out bonuses or perks.  I do work for a great company that does let their employees know that they do a great job year round, but likes to ensure that the holiday season is extra special.

Bonuses and perks seem to be declining all around, yet the work and expectations continue to increase (ack, I'm starting to sound like my parents)!

Domestic engineer/domestic goddess...essentially is a psychologist, doctor, secretary, travel agent, event planner, chef, maid.  We keep the ball in the air and a smile on your face (just kidding)!  We are the queen of multi-taskers!  Come to think of it, if you put a dollar value on the different work we do, I'd probably be able to dine with Bill Gates!

Careful Bluenoser, or you'll be liable for import duty (see story on home page)...

I have to say that the motorcycle cops as well as "patrol" cops were put in full force for the Christmas boat parade... they seemed to have been everywhere.... I had no clue there were so many cops in Bermuda... They do show up sometimes........
