lol...this isn't about me or Canada, although i'll give you credit for the Corny Canuck quib...tres drole.

I'm not expecting the Gov't to be perfect.  But when they claim all this 'transparency' and the outright deception that is put out "for our own good"...THAT'S what's laughable.

And while i'm at it, let me be perfectly frank with you, i don't care what you think of me or my country, cuz while YOU are there YOUR opinion doesn't count for anything.  The only reason that i'm even entertaining your comment is LIF brought your name into this and it's only fair i address your attempt to spin and deflect away from the issue.  So if you have anything to talk about with regards to the TOPIC then feel free, if not, just know that i won't engage you any further with your usual attempts to degrade threads into utter destruction.

CC

ps.  For the record i would be just as upset if this was the ubp, abc, xyz, 123...bad gov't is bad gov't period.  Since i have no reference point for any other gov't, THIS is the one i have a problem with.

CC - not entirely correct....Canada is extremely tolerant of immigrants (some say too tolerant).  Witness the example of the laws to formerly amend the official dress of the RCMP to accommodate turbans.

Tigga - for someone who is so down on....what's the term you use?.....oh yeah....interlopers, you seem to have done a lot of interloping yourself.  If you still live in Canada, you might try being true to thine ownself and GTFO.

well excuse me...you were born in Canada, so unfortunately your opinion does count.  Cuz unlike here if you were born there you get some say.  And i hear you Rasta, i was really talking about voting, but i can see that Tigga would be able to considering his circumstances.

But see (he's real good at this) he's done it again.  WE AREN'T TALKING ABOUT CANADA.  This is about the Club Med situation and the lies being generated about it to save face...that's it.  So from HERE on out (i know i said that earlier but damn he's good at getting under one's skin) I will only be addressing ON TOPIC posts.

I corrected my mistake, because I have no problem with being wrong or making errors.  But please let's not get into syntax and semantics or where i went to school because it's OBVIOUS your ill equipped.  I mean you have nothing but to make comments about my country, hockey, calling me corny, calling me a lady, my education and at the same time you feel like you actually know something about ANYTHING.  It's amazing, sad really, but none the less amazing.

Anything about the topic? Exactly.

Spin, deflect, *POOF* another derailed thread.  You were taught well.

Each and every day it becomes more and more apparant that our government is infested with liars and cheats. Bullshitters and backstabbers. And every day it becomes more apparent that we have way too many people in Bermuda who just role over and say "do it to me one more time." People who have abviously become so accustomed to the deceit that they no longer are even aware of who's really the one pulling the wool over their eyes. And as this continues on it manifests itself into the day to day lives of everyone and eventually people just think it's OK to BS and cheat and try the old tactic of "it's easier to beg forgiveness than get permission." However we are getting to the stage where people aren'te even asking for forgiveness. They just expect people to accept things as they are.

Screw that.

If our own government won't tell us the truth then let's get it ourselves. Time to start telling the world about how these clowns are destroying our country. Start by sending letters to the board of directors of companies that are aiding and abetting. They've got the contracts - what are the plans? If you don't get a satisfactory answer copy the newspapers in their locations. Or get these threads on Digg(?) or whatever web based programs.

Kind of sad that we have to by-pass our own government to get the truth but hey - the people's got to do what's right for the people.

Larry Dennis is also concerned but like he says....."my hands are not tied, um juss cuffed".....

From the RG article in the OP:
Quote
When The Royal Gazette asked for the reason for the construction delay, Mr. Burgess stressed asbestos abatement was a delicate process. "Abatement of asbestos takes some time, we were not aware of the amount of asbestos that these buildings contain and so that has put us back," he said. "Certainly, it was our wish and endeavour to have construction started but you cannot start under these conditions."

Fascinating.  They "weren't aware" of the amount of asbestos in the buildings???  How could they not know?  All they had to do was look at when the building was constructed to know that the thing was full of asbestos.

If true that statement demonstrates gross incompetence on the part of everyone concerned.
