Matthew Charles Clarke is the victim of yet another murder in Bermuda, which will probably go unsolved. Rumours I have heard since yesterday:

i)     Ya boy was a known drug dealer
ii)     He was badly beaten and stabbed 25 times in the neck!
iii)     He was murdered somewhere else and then brought back to his home     which is why there wasnt a lot of blood at the crime scene.
iv)     He was attacked when he was asleep.

All in all, extremely messed up. Blessings to his family and friends.

Benevelous,

While I appreciate you taking the time to start the thread, I think that going on to list all of the rumours that you've heard since yesterday is very unhelpful and extremely insensitive to the family and those who knew the victim.

A simple news link or word to the family would have been more appropriate than listing the garbage that the rumour mill has been busy churning out for the last 24 hours.

Just my 2 cents.

Personally, I was very shocked having seen and spoken to Matthew only a few days ago. Just goes to show you how life is so unpredictable and that every opportunity you see somebody is an opportunity to leave a lasting impression.

My cousin is good friends with Matthew's younger sister who's away at university. Can't imagine what she's going through; she was just about to sit her first exam when she heard the news. From what I understand he was known to be involved with 'drugs'. While that doesn't say anything about the guy's character, it does give a possible reason as to why he was murdered.

Hopefully this murder will be solved, they had arrested someone yesterday afternoon relating to it. This murder along with Aquil Richardsons' murder need to be solved and the murderers need to be given the most severe sentence to send a clear message. These guys need to be made examples of in order to make it known that this bullshit needs to stop.

Fair enuf. Lock it up, mod.

Eh, do we really need to?  Huh

Not trying to be insensitive but as long as we hear CO's words n take them into consideration for future posts...can't we leave it open incase people have something to contribute?

Plus, I'm alil hungover n feeling lazy...  wacko

I agree with CO also. Since you know the family please give them my condolences.
Another sad day in Bermuda. People have to start offering info and stop this cycle that is becoming a trend. It's just not 'Onionish'.

Okay this is my last comment because this is really starting to sicken me, but Bene, seriously?!? You have no evidence that this killing had anything to do with drugs. Are you really implying that anyone who is needlessly murdered deserves such a ending? I mean come on!

Please, Joka, I know you said you are hungover but c'mon, lock this one up. This guy deserves better than this. His family, his children deserve better than this.

Benevelous - Sounds like you've got it all wrapped up already. If you aren't already employed in law enforcement perhaps you should consider a career change.

In any event, my statements echo alsys. It's all good to make a blanket statement about people's lifestyles blah blah blah (although we don't even know if this is the case) but at the same time this is somebody's son, father, brother, cousin, partner... and if you had known him then you know that he really did deserve better than this.

To my knowledge - there is no evidence at this stage to support any of the early posted comments.

In time a clearer picture will emerge.

In these and all cases it is best to know the facts before unfounded statements are made.

This is the time to firstly support the family and secondly the Investigators as the search for the facts continues.

c: run file "controversy" . **** it. its an internet forum. the majority of you are all talk anyway. you'll never do anything to make a serious change because you spend all your time chanting down those who dont think like you. am i not being PC enough for you?...i dont give a rat's ass about your sensitivities.

You have no evidence that this killing had anything to do with drugs.

True. But you prolly believe Ewart isnt corrupt either. Get off your high white horse and join us in a place called reality.

Are you really implying that anyone who is needlessly murdered deserves such a ending? I mean come on!

The murder is either gang related, drug related, or both. You have to agree with me here, no?

Please note* At no point did I suggest that this man deserved such an ending, but thanks for putting words in my mouth. All I am saying is that if you work in an aviary, you're bound to get sh*t on at one point or another. Do you deserve it? Depends on what you did to the birds. Should you expect it? Of course. Should i feel sorry for you? No, because that's the risk you take.

CO - lol You sound just like everyone else...seriously. For the most part,  I dont think people deserve to die. However, your attitude makes me sick. It's this "i knew him / he was my cousin / oh that's my baby, he would never do anything like that" attitude. People like you are the reason murders go unsolved! You blind yourself from reality on purpose.

Did you ever stop and think, why was this man killed? Yeah, it's fuggin mug that this guy is dead, but he didnt get killed for no reason. After this all comes to an end and the "truth" is out, I'll be the guy at the back of the room yelling, "i told you so"

piglet -

if you cant talk about it on an anonymous internet forum, where can you? BTW do you get the emails / texts about this yesterday. i did.

blinded from reality on purpose? What are you talking about? The only think I take issue with is when individuals who are admittedly running off of pure speculation jump on an internet forum with the latest gossip.

Like I said... you seem to know it all already, so I anticipate that we can be expecting an arrest sometime soon.

You talk about my attitude being why murders go unsolved? Dude... YOUR attitude is exactly the reason why the rumour mill in Bermuda seems to be constantly working overtime. What ever happened to getting the facts first before you jump online slamming a guy whose body isn't even cold yet?

Okay, where do I start.

1. Just because it's an internet forum does not excuse any of us from having decency or empathy... or the common sense not to spout asinine rumours without having ANY of the facts. Making a serious change? You have no clue who the people are on here and you have no clue what it is we have done or are doing to make serious changes in Bermuda. Just because we post doesn't mean that's all we do and you're an idiot if you think otherwise. Perhaps this may be true in your case but I know that it certainly is not true in others who post on here.

2. This so isn't about E-wart or the gov't. But then, everything does go back to that here doesn't it. Y'all talk about tigga (whom I disagreed with openly in nummerous cases) but are you truly any better if that the comments you fall back on?

3. No, it isn't necessarily either of the two. There have been many cases in Bermuda where someone was murdered and it had nothing at all to do with either! I don't have to agree with you because I choose not to make assumptions. I hesitate to even ask this, but is it because the guy is a black and young male that it has to be one of the two?? if that is not your reaoning, please do enlighten me.

4. Okay, that is probaly the most asinine comment and I've been here on Earth a while! You are honestly saying is that because someone is rumoured to have been in the drug scene then their murder is less tragic than another person's? Like, did you even read over what you just said?

Hey Benevolous - you seem like a guy who is 'in the know'. I hope you have passed your reliable information onto crimestoppers.

Well said Piglet.
