Talking of using multiple computers, it has been known for me to have bdasucks open twice on the same computer.

Not being as computer savvy as others on here, my copy and paste techniques for quoting are sadly limited (but improving), so instead of trying to navigate various threads for the information to copy I just open up bdasucks so that I can keep my reply one fixed and navigate with ease through the other one.

Finally getting a chance to catch up on some other threads...

Again, this is something I do all the time, and I've never had it cause a problem.

Now I am getting really confused.........

No access from the house again, I can view the cached pages from google but that's as far as it goes.

Anyway, I digress. This morning, switch on work computer and open up bdasucks, it opens as normal as I have the "log-on for ever" option ticked. Nothing unusual, which is true, however in my travels around the site I notice that I am not logged in, but I am, no your not. On the home page (as in the forum homepage) my avatar is there sitting pretty at the top of the page (isn't it cute Cheesy) move to any other page my avatar disappears and I am effectively logged out.

I am now of the opinion that theree is a conspiracy.

The bad news is   you won't get rid of me that easily. Grin

This does sound like it could be a caching issue, but not with the web page cache in your machine, but with a web page cache somewhere between your computer and BS. See, if someone who shares that cache with you (i.e. your BS traffic both goes through it) has visited BS before you, and were not logged in, they will have 'pre-loaded' the cache with copies of the pages which were served up to someone who wasn't logged in. When you try and visit the page, the cache hands you the copy of the page it already has on hand (which is, of course, not personalized for you).

Here's a thought: do you have the 'proxy' enabled in your brower? If you're using IE, it's under Tools/Internet Options/Connections/Lan Settings.

Another possibility is that to reduce bandwidth needs, either your company, or the ISP, has installed a so-called 'invisible cache' (sometimes called an 'invisible proxy') which does much the same thing as the proxy in the browser, but doesn't need to be configured in each PC. I gather the corporate ones are often integrated into boxes which also do acceptable-use-policy controls, etc.

Course, maybe I'm full of it, but that would be top of my suspect list at the moment.

I gues it's something with me...........

No joy getting in last night (I did switch the computer off and try again) however, as I am at home now, turned computer on, used my own short-cut, and here i am. Did nothing different from yesterday, so I guess it is an intermittent error, that I will just have to put up with.

Thanks all for you input.
