Man, it is much easier to think about that employment experience with the benefit of time & distance Smiley I'm glad to have moved on... It wouldn't surprise me if you have issues with my ex boss, most people did after a short time. Drop me a PM if you like & we'll figure it out...

32n64w - my main man - assuming you are a man - you could be my wily woman - karma to you for all you do talking to the brick walls over at regressive. As soon as the Randy getting trounced thing came out they shut down. Didn't want to admit the Kool Aid's got a bitter taste I guess. Now they want to steal the thunder from the mayor's initiative.

i'm guessing that 32N 64W are bearings on a compass or is there something more meaningful behind your name?

The confluence 32 degrees North, 65 degrees West is actually the closest to that sea mount, but 32x64 definitely has a better ring to it.   Tongue

what's in a name ... not too much in this case actually ... 32n64w is a lat/long location to the SE of BDA.  as pointed out above 32n65w would actually be closer to home but i just liked the symmetry of 32,64.

i honestly thought progressive minds was going to be an opportunity for the youth wing of the plp to intellectually and honestly outshine the older members of their party and hoped that through constructive (and admittedly at times on my part snarky) dialogue the younger generation would be more open to a different perspective and perhaps understanding ...  after all as Bermudians we have far more in common then we do differences.

over the last few months, however, it became clear to me that this was simply not going to be possible.  with the exception of j starling and less than a handful of others the vast majority of the posters were far more interested in bashing the previous government and pointing the finger at the opposition (more than 50% of the posts were started with anti-UBP rhetoric) rather than tackling legitimate criticism.  this insecurity and lack of focus on the here and now eventually dried up my enthusiasm for participating and finally crystallised my opinion on the fundamental differences between the plp and the ubp ... for all its faults the ubp, at its core, is a party of tolerance and inclusivity whose membership reflects a complete cross section of our community (regardless of race, background, economic or social standing) and has a far greater depth of understanding of the Bermuda dynamic we call home.  the plp, on the other hand, does not.

IMHO - it seemed to me also that some of the posters were definately close to the top of the PLP tree and there was a lot of back slapping going on and self congratulation rather than real dialogue and discussion and as you pointed out 32 64 a constant bash at the past instead of focussing on the here and now.

3264... we're pleased that you "saw the light" and came over here to the darkside.  An oxymoron?  Not really.  We all welcome your point of view, no matter your political leanings.  As long as you can "take it" as well as "dish it out"... you're okay by me!!   Grin.
