Perhaps one of the drivers broke a nail on a faulty piece of machinery and they're all out in protest at bad working conditions?

Perhaps it's because it's a gorgeous day out there and any excuse is a good excuse.

Perhaps one of their mates was drink driving and got sacked?

Perhaps someone thumped the boss and was laid off for a week?

Who knows, what reason do they need now? it's been proven in the past that they can do it whenever they want without fear of retribution - why not???

You'll get over it Wikigirl.  Happens all the time here.  Just make sure to bring a decent pair of trainers into work each day for the long walk home.... Tongue

Where and when? I'll need someone to give me a ride to the spot.

Come on, y'all, I'm an old married man! LET ME HAVE THIS!

Short answer - they did it because they know there will be no consequences.

But they wonder why people don't take the bus/ferry/whatever.  How about you can't depend on them?

There are lots of other reasons including "My office used to overlook the bus terminal and, as a result, I will not allow my kids to take the bus to and from school.  Ever."  But those don't apply to this discussion.

Why did they strike again? I'll go out on a limb and suggest that, as per usual, it's because the shop stewards think that the best, completely non-hypocritical way to resolve a perceived breach of contract is to take unquestionably illegal wildcat strike action. Oh, and they know that this Government will do **** all about it other than to capitulate for fear of alienating its base.

Just saw the news.
apparently earlier this week a bus was leaving the terminal and pulled out into Church St.  a car was travelling east and into the box junction there, nearly striking the bus.  I'm not sure of the signage there but I'm sure the bus would be in the wrong there as traffic was flowing.
Anyway, the car driver (female) apparently flipped off the bus driver (male), so he stopped the bus, completely blocking the road in all directions, exited the bus and went to the driver's door of the car.  ZFB had CCTV footage and showed this big, fat driver being physically dragged away from the car but didn't show if he assualted the car driver or threatened her or caused damage.
He was sacked, hence the strike.  The reason the union was annoyed was because this driver has 23 years' service.....I'm F'ing sick of Chris Furbert.  PTB, predictably, caved and reinstated the driver, hence the shortness of the strike.
He leaves a bus full of passengers in the middle of the road to go attack a driver who flipped him off when he was in the wrong in the first place....un-f'ing-real.
Again, noty sure of signage down there and it may be that buses have right of way but I'd doubt it, the box junction just bars (yeah, like anyone takes any notice of it) encroaching into it when unable to clear it.
I'm sick of the unions here.  Violent bus drivers, drunk ferry pilots....and we can't sack any of them.

Obvious signage suggests that buses have the right of way out of the terminal in that hash-marked section....  Smiley Cool

Caught on CCTV you say? What was that post earlier about assault? Hmmmmm.... wonder if there's a lawsuit in the offing. Then again if it's the BIU involved.... wonder if it's good bye to CCTV. Undecided
