Please be careful driving home after all the rain, and for those of you on bikes please don't use the sidewalk/pavement or whatever you want to call it........

Generally where there is a big flood, it means that the pits in the side walk have flooded. What you might fail to realize is that the concrete covers are no longer there. I am aware of one incident today whereby the cyclist disappeared into said pit, so be warned.........

just a bit. nearly 3 inches last tuesday night and I think another 3 inches this afternoon. A bit more than normal is around 5 inches a month

Glad you haven't been washed away JJ. You're right to warn about riding in the rain, very hazardous. A bit of advice Mike gave me was to be careful on the road markings on my moped when it is wet. He was right and I saw others make that mistake and come away with road rash.

Kirsty, it is a bit warmer than the UK most of the time but Bermuda is not a year round sunshine type destination. You are heading out there at a good time of year but the winter tends to be wet and windy and the older houses aren't as well equipped for cold as those in the UK. Don't make the mistake many do and go without a few sweaters, waterproof coat etc.
