... for the time being, I've setup access to the forum itself on this link:  http://www.bermudasucks.com/forum/

Don't get used to it.  We will be going back to the Joomla interface once the server performance problems are worked out.

Well, I want to skin the cat (sorry!) as many ways as I can to keep everyone happy.  However, there are bills to pay...

I will be incorporating the banner ads in the forum-only site again.  If I can sell out the banner ads for the forum, I'll have to go back to the wrapped mode for everyone.  Until then, we'll keep the forum only part rolling until we can reliably get the Joomla components back to satisfactory performance.

I want the site experience to be fun and fast for everyone.  I use it the same way; it's not like I want to sit around waiting for pages to load either.    innocent

I understand where you are coming from and hosting the site is very much appreciated.

It really is a joy to surf the site the way it is, I hope these joomla guys get their act together soon.

I receved the following today from GoDaddy.com:

*********************************************************
 HOSTING ACCOUNT UPDATE
*********************************************************

Dear BermudaSucks.com,

As part of a continuing effort to provide the highest quality
service for our valued customers, your hosting account has been
migrated to a new server that will provide you with increased
performance and reliability.

*********************************************************

I've checked and they have indeed moved the site to a new server.  Please keep an eye on the performance and let me know if there are any ongoing speed problems.

I'll be leaving the "back door" access to the forum at http://www.BermudaSucks.com/forum/ for those who don't use the extra Joomla features and just want to have fast access to the forum itself.  For those who do use the Wiki and free photo gallery, or just enjoy the bells and whistles of the full site, you may access it at the regular address: http://www.BermudaSucks.com/

For secure HTTP, just add an "s" after http and you can enjoy the additional safety of encrypted connections to the site: https://www.BermudaSucks.com/forum/

I'd like to extend my personal thanks to those members who have helped us improve the site with their assistance and suggestions.   Smiley
