Not really road rage, but could be construed as such.

As I understand it, there is a maximum of 600 taxi's on the island. (it may have been increased recently, but I'm not sure), so why do their registration plates go up to 1,600 (and probably higher) implying that there are 1,600+ taxi's on the road?

I would have thought that if a license lapses, or is passed on, that the new owner of the license takes on the existing number plate.

Is this too obvious?

My uncle had Taxi number 1584 as far back as 1960. This permit has been sold and I still see T1584 driven today.

My Father owned and drove T1254 since 1949. I imagine the high numbers were as a result of the fact that Buses and Airport Limo's were allocated number with "T".

Times change. Thats why the high numbers. Why change a number and or new plates, just more ching ching..

Gotta run.....waxing dee kar.....off too Canada late tonight. Smiley
