From the Lawyers Say the Stupidest Things file:

Regarding the 11.76 grams of crack cocaine:

Quote
Charles Richardson said the amount found in Raymond Troy (Yankee) Rawlins' pocket could have been smoked within a week if someone was a "closet smoker".

There is a good reason, as Crown Counsel Cindy Clarke points out, "that [the] dealing provision (in Bermuda law) is one gram of cocaine"... because a gram of crack is a lot for a one-person binge!

12 grams in a week?  I don't know who Mr Richardson has for comparison, but his comments are rediculous.  Let's hope Magistrate Wolfe listens to Sgt. Small who said, "this amount of crack cocaine is not for personal use".
