The spin machine is in full effect. Thaao continues to spread the lie this is about race. He's even claiming that the demo will be a false representation of the mood of the people. The faux outrage is laughable. He's a young man and still has a chance to distance himself form this crap but is currently demonstrating a lack of maturity and intelligence. Shame. Laverne is claiming that workers are being threatened into attending the rally (we know she's lying because that's what she does). She's positively spitting bile at this point. Over at RegressiveMinds, the idiot Jones is busy trying to justify his race baiting.

In the meantime, you know PLP MP's will be taking and making calls into the night. It's a tough call for them. You have the public expressions of DeVent, Alex Scott and the coward Furbert. All claim not to understand the motion as a weak attempt at distancing themselves from it. All three are spineless. But what of the rest? Turning off the gravy train or carrying on? What about those in marginals? What about those stabbed in the back by Brown? Jennifer Smith? Horton? Perinchief? People will not forget this when an election comes around. The one's with balls and the one's without.

This is actually a massive opportunity for the PLP to regain the high ground. Kick out the corrupt scum. Send the racists out in the cold. Invite an opposition MP or two into cabinet and show true leadership. Introduce fiscal responsibility, open tendering for government contracts. It would actually be a better, smoother path to Independence IF the people wanted it. It would demonstrate political maturity.

As UE pointed out - if they got rid of Brown they'd win the next election in a land-slide.

At this moment in time Bermuda needs a quiet, positive, reinforcing and steady hand to help guide us. This will not and cannot come from Brown. No-one wants him, no-one trusts him and no-one believes anything he says anymore. His bucket's full of holes. He holds no water with anything. There are enough people who hate his ways already.... on both sides of the fence. Keep him there will be more people jumping ship faster than a drowning rat. Keep him there will be a new party formed within months maybe weeks.

Keep him the PLP won't have a hell in a hand basket of winning the next election. The UBP won't win either but that's neither here nor there.

Forget about the cowards in the US Congress or the Senate, they had their chance to do the right thing they blew it. Obama will still have to welcome the Bermuda Government in appreciation of the Bermudian People (Not Brown, he knows the score) and he doesn't give a hoot if the leader is wearing a skirt. In fact he'd MUCH prefer that Bermuda has someone who is less of a lightning rod going forward.

Paula Cox - your country needs you to step up and take the leadership role. Do your dad proud. Besides Premier Paula has a very nice ring to it. Don't ya'll think? Smiley

Thaao is actually becoming the PLP's very own Rush Limbaugh.

Hmmmmm..... Thaao's pretty much cast his future this past week. Forever just a puppet in a two bit PLP show..... feel kind sad for the little guy.

Crymson Dynamo - give me a break. Call it for what it is. Lies, lies and more lies. It's disgusting what HOTT Radio is doing. Glenn Blakeney, Thaao Dill and Miss Thang are a disgrace to the industry.

http://jonnystar.wordpress.com/2009/06/18/your-democratic-human-rights/

This is a direct response to Ed Ball's memo about what Civil Servants can and cannot do with regard to the protest.

The sycophants and carpet-baggers are hanging on for absolute dear life because they know damn well that if Ewart Brown goes they all go.

For such a smart guy Thaao Dill has shown he's one of the most shallow people out there. No back-bone in that squid.

If that is the case then Hott and others involved in this misinformation campaign can, I think, be charged with a criminal offence, and even possibly libel.  However, I'll elt the legal troopers look into that.

Steve, you disappoint me - you are getting sloppy these days...

As I said to you elsewhere, if it is true then they need to take it to the authorities and prove it.  In case you hadn't realise the Party won in 1998.  Its 2009 now.  Unless they have proof, then it is actually Hott which in this occassion is interfering with peoples democratic rights.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I also posted similarly at Progressive Minds - you might want to get over there too and copy and paste your comment.

On many things, yes.  Not everything, but, well, life would be boring otherwise.

Crimson - If it's true? Too funny. Of course it isn't true and therefore there will be no evidence presented to the authorities.

Hott and Thaao, along with the nutcase's mother are so wrapped up in spinning this into a racial issue they can't help themselves and are too stupid to realise when they've crossed the line. It's disgusting. Interfereing with peoples rights...maybe, maybe not...but they are deliberately misleading the gullible.

It seems it is true that you can't teach an old dog new tricks....
The PLP have been shooting down issues with their racial bullets for a while now. But I fear for them the hammer just clicked on an empty chamber. They've needed to use this trick so often since Ewart came to power that they forgot to reload. The horrendous and sickening rhetoric being used now on Hott and LameVerne about "lynching" and such is analogous to someone running out of bullets and throwing the gun at their target in desperation.
My only hope now is that the Bermudian people will realize their advantageous position and rid themselves of this man that has been plundering our country unchecked for so long now. I hope the cowardly MPs that have stood idly by finally step up. I hope those that have benefited thanks to Brown at the cost of others, the people and the death of democracy go down with him, their lips still firmly sealed to his ass.
I've been away from home for a while now. It'll be the best coming home present in the world for me if i can return in a couple weeks to a new reborn Bermuda.

It's funny how this thread constantly beats up on Hott, but no one says anything about that pure bastion of honour... the Royal Gazette? If ever there was a media source not to be trusted!!! Oh... maybe I shouldn't have said anything with that banner ova dea on de left!

If you trust ANY media group to be truly middle of the road, then I feel sorry for you.

Propaganda is propaganda, regardless of the form it's in.

I take them all for what they're worth... which ain't much. Hott is free and the Gazette is overpriced at a buck. You don't have to listen or read that stuff if you don't want to.
