The stats show the prevailing sense of fear is spot on:  "Crimes against a person have soared in the last five years with 2009 recording the highest number of offences."

The good news is... while these violent crimes have significantly increased, theft is down a bit... I guess even the burglars are scared.   Undecided

This leads me to believe that those victims of violence somehow got incapacitated and could not commit the thefts hhhmmm. It all goes hand in hand.
