OMG I am SO GLAD I don't have to worry about this stuff!

If I was living anywhere else, I would believe this to be a piece of satire!

Summerhaven Nursing Home reccomendations:

-Staff can no longer sleep on night shift
-Staff will all undergo CPR and First Aid Training (can I tell everyone that I work in an office far away from the eldery and sick people and even *I* have my CPR and First Aid?)
-The home must buy basic medical diagnostic equipment - like a THERMOMETER! (and a blood glucose monitor - which again, for whatever reason i know this- I don't have diabetes and I am not even in the medical field- even *I* know how to use!)

These are part of a string of recommendations...the full story will be in tomorrow's gazette! OMG

This is a super serious matter, but Mr. Powell is threatening the jobs of the people who are trying to actually do their jobs properly...I mean, I get in trouble at work allthe time too for trying to do my job properly - but I don't have anyone depending on me for their health and safety...

Mr. Powell replied yesterday: "I think I know what's happening. We have a few here that are very persuasive. They can talk these guys into anything. Mr. Wachter spent extended time here interviewing everybody. We put this together and now they don't like that."

Regarding the fact staff signed the petition, he said: "It's not any concern. I'm not worrying about it. In this day and age, in this economy, they will be lucky to get jobs anywhere else."

Talk about back peddling and double talk and veiled threats...the present administration took over 14 months ago and this the the result...and they get half an million dollars annually from Gov't?

Unbelievable.  Angry

Ruling from a position of arrogance... sounds like business as usual in Bermuda.
