Rolfe Commissiong get paid $170,000 a year to act as the Premier's race relations consultant.

In a discussion at their gym Commissiong told Dueane Dill, a member of Bermuda Democratic Alliance, he "sounded like a house ****".

I kid you not, this is the guy Government pays large to listen to.   wacko

Are you surprised by this?

the only thing I am surprised at is this new party taking on the PLP head on....good, it's about time someone was taking them to task!

Yeah, I used to train at the Olympic Club. On three seperate occasions I greeted Rolfe while in the dressing room, and three times he didn't even respond. Just stared at me blankly and then walked away. Guy is an ass.

Surprised?  No, but I still marvel how audacious the 'players' are in Bermuda.  Being isolated gives them a bravado unbelievable in the civilized world.

The RG says Comissiong is now denying he used the term, however another Olympic Club member confirms Dill's story.

I too have dealt with Rolfe and never a more conceited, arrogant human being have I known.  And I've worked in Reinsurance in Bermuda so I've known some challengers!

Do you see the way the PLP strives to undermine the decent black politicians who oppose them?  Calling them house n*****s and saying Mr Dill is "forgetting his people", meaning black people... the rhetoric works, the divide is still strong.   Sad

My mistake: Rolfe is paid $8,600 per month or $103,200 per year.

The  strategy seems clear to me. As long as Rolfe continues to sow seeds of racial discord etc. he will have a job. It's call "creating a need for my services." Cox must get rid of him and the other useless highly paid Brown cronies and save the taxpayer's money.

Hang on... I thought the PLP platform was the racial divide?

Why would Cox get rid of Commissiong if that might mean a moderation in the polarization of the vote along racial lines?

That IS the PLP base!

Cox is a very intelligent woman, however I have serious doubts about her leadership qualities. She must assemble her own team of confidants and advisers. Rolfe and Brown are two peas in a pod, albeit for the wrong reasons. No one expects Cox to be as arrogant and divisive as Brown. Furthermore Rolfe's profile is too high and controversial, with the potential to cause harm to a new leader, especially one who is thought to lack leadership qualities. She must stamp her mark from day one without the Rolfes of this world.
There will be no shortage of persons willing to continue the polarization, but they will not be on the taxpayer dime, and they must be chosen by Cox.

Dinty, you have the popular thinking there.

I have grave concerns over Paula Cox as leader as she's shown complete fiscal ineptitude as Finance Minister.  Total lack of foresight, and no backbone of accountability.  For far too long, she's had an easy ride on the coat-tails of her late father.

She's been a disaster in Finance, so why not elevate her to Premier?    blink
