Bermuda Police are planning to have a visible presence, along with private security guards, at this year's chicken Exhibition.

Amazing work by the new top cop to conceive of such a bold new strategy to combat the rising tide of fear of being gunned down in front of your children.

Getting some training and a connection to the US FBI computer system seems like a good deal for an extra $1 million bucks.  Good thing the plastic-fantastic debt ceiling got stretched, who ever would have guessed police would need more money this year?   wacko

I think i have told the story of hanging out with an off duty cop at dockies who related that there were 3 cops on duty that Sunday...on the whole island.

Just had to fix that...and the title of this post alone had me in stitches.

Perhaps we could replace the pig racing (don't get me started on that) with gladiator style gangster wars in the main arena.  Home grown entertainment!

Somehow, I don't think the gang-bangers have the balls to stand up to a fair fight.

However, the gang in blue is making steps in the right direction.  Bernews reports the cops were doing a stop and search in Devonshire, well away from known trouble spots.  I'm guessing they are figuring out their procedures in a relatively safe area before doing the same thing somewhere they are likely to find more than an unpaid speeding fine violator...

Visible policing (with guns) is the plan for Cup Match.

Good start...
